Abstract
Estimating the durability of the cement stabilized soils’ layers of road clothing must have a set of different indicators. One of the most important indicators of the durability of layers of road clothing from the cement stabilized soils is their frost-resistance. In domestic and foreign works, scientists prefer to explain the causes of destruction of the cement stabilized soils, including the result of the effect of variable freezing-thawing in a saturated water state, and suggest ways to improve its frost resistance. The analysis of available scientific developments indicates the lack of studies concerning the prediction of frost resistance and the finding of new approaches for its determination. The existing methodology for determining the frost-resistance of the cement stabilized soils is cumbersome and takes a lot of time for its experimental implementation. The algorithm for predicting the frost-resistance of the cement stabilized soils is proposed. It is based on establishing the dependence of the frost-resistance coefficient of the cement stabilized soil on the integral porosity index. The integral index of porosity characterizes the structure of the material through the relationships of different types of pores: open capillary pores, open non-capillary pores, conditionally-occluded pores.
