FORMATION OF FUTURE TRANSLATORS’ CREATIVE SKILLS

Abstract

The article describes the importance of forming skills of creative translation in the process of students-philologists’ training. It is due to the development of future specialist’s creative potential the profession of a translator will be more competitive and a great demand in the labor market. The notions "creativity", "competence" are analyzed in detail. The main ways of development and formation of creative skills on the example of literary texts in the training process are systematized. Particular attention is paid to the interrelations of psychological and professional aspects of the individual’s development. Practice leads to the improvement of the entire system of an interpreter and translator preparation, development of individual creative abilities. There is a common misconception that translation is a very simple process that does not require much from an interpreter. A qualified translator invests a certain share of creativity in his/her translation, thus he/she transfers the message of the authentic material into a creative process. The key, which helps an experienced translator solves the most common problems, is creativity. An ideal, full-fledged correspondence is impossible to achieve, but the main thing is that the translation should not leave the reader indifferent. Consequently, the formation of creative skills of students-translators is a very important process for the development of a student as a specialist. It is creativity that enables an interpreter/translator to realize himself/herself as a specialist, to provide quality and unique translations. It is the creative approach that makes an interpreter an expert, and his/her work is very important in the context of modern demands.
