Abstract
The article considers the competence approach in implementing independent experiments and observations, as one type of school physics experiment. It promotes activity and independence of students, ensuring the formation of the necessary practical skills, research skills and personal experience of the experimental activity, through which they are able within the acquired knowledge to solve cognitive tasks by means of physical experiments
