FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE ARCHITECTS IN THE PROCESS OF STUDYING OF THE ARTISTIC CYCLE DISCIPLINES

Abstract

The paper describes the tasks and ways of solving the problems of architectural education. The paper considers the system of artistic preparation of future architects and features of the modern architectural education concepts. The presented analysis of the professional competencies formation considers the state of educational standard of higher vocational education for the formation of basic general cultural and professional competencies of future architects in the study of disciplines of the artistic cycle. The essence of gradual formation of competencies, preparation and acquisition of knowledge in the process of formation of theoretical and practical experience of students is revealed. The method of professional competencies formation of future architects in the process of studying the disciplines of the artistic cycle consisted and took place in three gradual stages: propaedeutics, professional orientation of figurative activity and productive stages of preparation. The first stage, propaedeutic, includes a system of tasks and exercises and provides for students’ acquisition of basic knowledge and skills in the disciplines of the artistic cycle. The second stage is focused on the practical use of knowledge and skills of figurative activity in solving problems of creating educational architectural projects. The third stage, productive, is aimed at the formation of gradual updating of the practice-oriented skills of figurative activity of students in the development of architectural projects. Formation of professional competencies of future architects at this stage was aimed at identifying architectural problems requiring the use of a complex of various types of figurative activity. As a result, the paper considers a set of tasks that were introduced into the process of theoretical and practical training of future architects in the formation of professional competencies in the process of studying the disciplines of the artistic cycle.
