FORMATION OF THE SYSTEM OF INDICATORS OF ECOLOGICAL SECURITY OF UKRAINE

Abstract
Purpose. Development of suggestions for the improvement of methodological approaches to the formation a system of ecological security indicators of the state. Methodology of research. The following methods have been used in the research: theoretical generalizations and comparison – to study the methods of assessing the ecological security of the state and regions proposed by domestic scientists; logical method, analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, grouping – provided the basis for the selection of indicators reflecting the level of threats to the national security of the state in the environmental sphere; abstract-logical method – to summarize theoretical positions, establishment of causal relationships and formation of conclusions and proposals; graphic method – in constructing a model of the complex indicators system of ecological security of the state. Findings. The existing methodical approaches to the assessment of ecological security of the state and its regions are considered. It’s proved that the indicators relating to the environmental state of the environment and the risk of environmental emergencies, as well as economic and social indicators, should be included in the list of environmental security indicators. Originality. It was expanding existing methods of assessing the ecological security of the state by forming a complex system of indicators, which includes all indicators showing the state of the environment, the risk of man-made emergencies and natural disasters, the impact of the environment on the population and the effectiveness of state provision of environmental security of the state. Practical value. The results of the study can be used in the formation of national methodology of assessing environmental security, which will determine the main threats to the country’s environmental security, carry out their forecasting and develop an effective environmental policy aimed at improving the state of ecological security of the state and its regions.
