ФРЕЙМ «ОХОРОНА ПТАХІВ» У РОМАНІ «СВОБОДА» ДЖОНАТАНА ФРАНЗЕНА: ЛІНГВОКОГНІТИВНИЙ І ЕКОЛІНГВІСТИЧНИЙ АСПЕКТИ

Abstract
The article deals with the analysis of the frame PROTECTION OF BIRDS in the novel Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. The linguo-cognitive modeling of this frame has revealed its structure as well as the peculiarities of its objectification in the literary text. The frame PROTECTION OF BIRDS is represented in the novel Freedom as a structured unity of three slots: «Agent of nature protection activities», «Nature protection activities», «Object of nature protection activities». The slot «Agent of nature protection activities» is instantiated with the concepts INDUSTRIALIST, NATURE PROTECTION ACTIVIST, CITIZEN. The slot «Nature protection activities» consists of the components GOAL, SEQUENCE OF ACTIONS, RESULT. In its turn the component SEQUENCE OF ACTIONS includes four subframes: STUDYING THE ECOLOGY OF BIRDS, ANALYSING THE PROBLEM OF BIRDS EXTINCTION, DEVELOPING A PLAN OF ACTIONS, IMPLEMENTING THE PLAN. The slot «Object of nature protection activities» is manifested by the concepts which vary on the scale of generalconcrete representation: BIRD, SONGBIRD, CERULEAN WARBLER. The detailed verbalization of the frame PROTECTION OF BIRDS in the novel Freedom is its specific feature. It is determined by the twofold function of the fame in the text as it is one of the main components of the plot as well as an important element of the ideological aspect of the text. Within the ecolinguistic approach the potential social importance of the abovementioned frame has been disclosed. In the novel the frame PROTECTION OF BIRDS is put into the context of a number of conceptual oppositions that determine the worldview and the attitude to the nature thus it appeals not only to the knowledge but also to the values and convictions of the readers.
