They were aged 55-101, 110 men, 116 women. Clinical evaluation of the teeth was done on one visit. Based on the results it was calculated and analyzed the number of teeth and/or the number of surfaces: healthy without gingival recessions, with primary root caries, filled with secondary caries and properly filled cavities. Cavities progression level was evaluated using Billing’s classification. Results: It was stated, that patients from SWH* have statistically less teeth than patients from FH**. In the SWH group less surfaces with recession and with primary root caries were stated than in FH group. SWH boarders had none surfaces with proper fillings and in the FH group only 2,1% of all fillings were proper. There were no differences stated in the number of root surfaces filled, with secondary caries. Small level of root caries progression using billing’s modified classification was stated more frequent in the FH group than SWH (p<0,001). Root caries with highest progression level was stated statistically more often in the SWH than FH (p<0,001) * SWH – social welfare house **FH- family house
