Functional outcome in Schatzker type V and VI tibial plateau fractures
Journal Title: National Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 4
Abstract
Introduction: Tibial plateau fractures occur due to a combination of axial loading and varus or valgus applied forces leading to articular depression, malalignment and an increased risk of posttraumatic osteoarthritis. Aims and objectives: To study the functional outcome in the management of Schatzker type V and VI tibial plateau fractures. Conclusion: Schatzker’s type V and VI tibial plateau fractures represent serious injuries with sustantial residual limb specific and general health deficits. The postoperative functional and radiological outcomes indicate that open reduction internal fixation is a feasible treatment option for bicondylar and complex tibial plateau fractures.

Management of Vancouver type B1 periprosthetic femoral shaft fracture by reversed contralateral distal femur locking plate
Background: Vancouver B1 periprosthetic femoral fractures are described as fractures occurring around the stem tip in which the prosthesis is stable. Treatment options include Mennen plates (CMW Laboratories, Exeter, En...
Functional outcome assessment of trochanteric fractures with a new scoring system
Introduction: Trochanteric fractures are extra capsular fractures resulting commonly among elderly patients due to trivial fall. The complications of the surgeries result in severe life threatening conditions, consequent...

Epidemiological profile of articular fractures of distal radius
This study was designed to look for the patients demographics, mechanism of injury and fracture characteristics. Methods: Over all 40 cases of articular fractures of the distal radius were reviewed retrospectively. Patie...
Study of functional outcome after arthroscopic repair in recurrent traumatic anterior dislocation of shoulder
Introduction: Shoulder is a ball and socket type of joint, having wide range of motion with relative deficient support. Traumatic damage leads to laxity in the soft-tissue and bony restraints; thus, recurrent subluxation...
