Functional outcome of arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with double mini incision bone patellar tendon bone graft
Journal Title: International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 4
Abstract
Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament injury is quite common in young active individuals. Non-surgical methods leads to early osteoarthritis and painful meniscal tears. There are variety of surgical methods from internal bracing with repair, auto grafts with bone patellar tendon bone, hamstrings, quadriceps tendon, quadriceps tendon bone and peroneus longus tendon and variety of allografts. One of the best among them is bone patellar tendon bone auto graft for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Materials and Methods: A cohort of 16 cases were studied for a period of 6 months postoperatively for the functional outcome of arthroscopically assisted anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with bone patellar tendon bone graft. Result: This study comprised of 16 patients and followed for minimum of 6 months. Success rate is 100%, with 92% graded as excellent to good and rest 8 % with fair functional results. Conclusion: We conclude that Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction with bone patellar tendon bone graft has good functional results and high success rate.

Evaluation of the carrying angle of the elbow joint in children’s and adolescents and its correlation with various parameters
Background: The carrying angle is acute angle between median axis of the upper arm with fully extended and supinated forearm. It is important to know the carrying angles of both elbows in the evaluation of deformities ar...
Facet joint malorientation as a cause of disc degeneration and prolapse in cases with backache: A radiological analysis
Background: Facet tropism is defined as asymmetry between the left and right vertebral facet-joint angles, with one joint having a more sagittal orientation than the other. The goals of the present investigation were to...
Functional outcome following surgical management of proximal humerus fracture in elderly
Proximal humerus fracture accounts to about 4-5% of all the fractures and is the third most common fracture in the elderly population. Though several modalities of treatment exist there are no clear guidelines or consens...
A study on functional outcome following surgical fixation for subaxial cervical spine injuries
Background: Cervical instability due to trauma is usually from level c3 to c7 (i.e sub axial). Neurological deficit are common i.e root compression and cord compression with subluxation and dislocation. Unstable cervical...
Simultaneous double dislocation of the interphalangeal joints of the fourth finger: A case report
Double dislocation of the proximal (PIP) and the distal interphalangeal (DIP) remains an extremely rare entity. The association with a metacarpal fracture of the same hand reflects the violence of the trauma. We report a...
