Functional Status of Mitochondrial Pore in the Brain of Laboratory Rats Subjected to Prolonged Emotional Stress
Journal Title: Журнал ÑтреÑÑ-физиологии и биохимии - Year 2011, Vol 7, Issue 4
Abstract
We have studied the functional status of the mitochondrial membrane pore in the brain of laboratory rats under the stress caused by 30-day isolation and violation of diurnal cycles. It has been established that the functional status of the MMTP changes under the stress. Particularly, the MPTP is activated as the pore opens affected by an increased concentration of cytoplasmic Са[sup]2+[/sup] and reduced content of mitochondrial Са[sup]2+[/sup]. It has been suggested that the Са[sup]2+[/sup]-induced opening of the pore is a result of the intensified oxidative processes in the brain, as a result of energy deficiency and a reduced activity of anti-oxidative enzymes.

Alteration of SH-group Contents in Red Beet Roots and Vacuoles under Osmotic Stress
The content of sulfhydryl groups in homogenate of red beets and isolated vacuoles under the conditions of osmotic stress was determined. It was demonstrated that the common content of sulfhydryl groups in the isolated va...
The Response Strategy of Maize, Pea and Broad Bean Plants to Different Osmotic Potential Stress
This investigation was conducted to study the tolerance strategy of maize, broad bean and pea plants to salinity stress with exogenous applications of proline or phenylalanine on seed germination and seedlings growth. Fr...
The Composition of Fatty Acids of Pinus sylvestris L. of Olkha Village Surrounding Forests
Palmitic, linoleic and α-linolenic acids are the major fatty acids during the study. Analyzing seasonal dynamics derived fatty acids revealed that for acids with 18 carbon atoms are characterized by virtually similar dyn...
Redox Enzymes of Red Beetroot Vacuoles (Beta vulgaris L.)
Years of research have shown that some of the redox elements (enzymes, coenzymes, and co-substrate) are isolated from each other kinetic and spatial manner (compartmentalization) in the eukaryotic cells. The redox...
