Functions and role of stock index on Ukraine financial markets

Abstract
The present article is dedicated the functions and role of the stock indices in the financial market. The emergence and development of domestic stock indices, their level and dynamics are analyzed. The institutional conditions of the financial market of Ukraine, which corrupt the implementation of the functions of stock indices and measures to rectify the situation, are defined.
