Abstract
Administracja celna odgrywa istotną rolę w ochronie interesów fiskalnych Wspólnoty Europejskiej. Służba celna, jako część składowa wspólnotowej administracji celnej odpowiedzialna jest za zapewnienie ochrony i bezpieczeństwa interesu fiskalnego nie tylko terytorium Polski, ale i pozostałych państw członkowskich. Pomimo zniesienia granic celnych pomiędzy państwami członkowskimi rola służby celnej nie zmalała, a wręcz przeciwnie nadal wrasta. W rezultacie organy administracji celnej zostały wyposażone w szereg kompetencji związanych z poborem należności celnych oraz podatkowych z tytułu importu towarów.
