Abstract

Galangin (4H-1-benzopyran-4-one-3,5,7-trihydroxy2-phenyl and 3,5,7-trihydroxyflavone), a flavonoid derived from medicinal herbs including Alpiniaofficinarum Hance, Alnuspendula Matsumand Plantagomajor L..Propolis, a resinous substance from honeybees, has beenused as an antiseptic in folk medicine and its biologicactivity depends on the presence of galangin.
