Gamer YouTuber Community in Hungary. Popularity Analysis of the Hungarian Gamer YouTubers

Abstract
(Gamer YouTuber community in Hungary. Popularity analysis of the Hungarian gamer YouTubers) Playing videogames is a very popular activity nowadays. Gaming evolved into a subculture, the gamers lately are not imagined as teenagers with social anxiety, are not described as “nerds”, but are perceived as members of a very active community. The discourse about gamers, gaming changed among the researchers and in the mass media as well, as the gaming subculture has developed. Videos related to gaming were popular among the community long before YouTube was established, but after the social media platform started to develop, gamers appeared there as well, and started to upload their content to the site, becoming one of the largest YouTuber community. The aim of this paper is to fi nd out if the most popular gamer YouTubers are as popular in the YouTuber community as well or only among the viewers.
