Abstract

What words do we think of when we see the word game? There can be many definitions but they all sum up in one simple idea: an enjoyable period of time. When we talk about the classroom activities, the word game should mean the following: “play”, “fun”, “cooperation” and “competition”. As a communicative activity, the game has the aim to have students relaxed and enjoying themselves, acquiring language through natural use. In this way, the learnt language is more available for students. This article aims to make a brief presentation of the most common types of games used in the classroom.
