Gauchers Disease: Case Report of 7 Rare Cases in and around Bareilly District in Northern India Over a Span of 4 Years

Abstract

Introduction: Gauchers disease{GD} is a rare disease with autosomal recessive inheritance. The purpose of this study was to highlight the clinical features and diagnostic challenges observed. Material and methods: A total of 7 cases were observed with 4 year follow up and their progression and clinical features were observed Results: GD type 1 was the most common finding with 100% mortality observed in GD type 2 with severe systemic and local clinical findings Conclusion: GD type 1 has better prognosis and is more common with high mortality in GD type 2. Treatment is long and very costly in all GD variants.
