Gender Budgeting: Case of Turkey

Abstract
There are significant inequalities in terms of responsibilities taken, access to social resources, control of social resources and duties performed between male and female in most of developing societies as well as some developed societies. Gender budgeting can be used as a tool to fix this inequality. Gender budgeting offers a budgeting system where all processes of budgeting is allocated with gender equality in mind. With usage of Gender Budgeting Women, rights and social gender equality can be supported. In the meantime it contributes to efficient and accountability of governments. This study first defines gender budgeting system along with its actors and stages and then focuses on gender-oriented studies conducted within Turkey.
