GENDER, POLITICS AND HISTORY: SAN JUAN WOMEN COUNCIL BETWEEN 2011 AND 2015

Journal Title: Construcciones Históricas por Estudiantes - Year 2018, Vol 2, Issue 2

Abstract

This paper shows the historical products of an empirical research that addresses the resulting plot between the dimensions of recent history, local politics and the gender perspective. The research problem has been determined according to the technical coordinates that frame it chronologically in the last complete governmental period and spatially in a representative sample unit in terms of the municipal categories of the Departments of the Province of San Juan, Argentina. It questions the complexity built around the historical nexus between the departmental legislative representation, the partisan feminine participation and the legal sustenance that formalizes them. From the theoretical point of view, a model based on History with a gender perspective has been applied through the contributions conceptually proper to the History of Women articulated with recent History. Methodologically, a mixed design has been applied through quantitative graphic representation techniques and qualitative documentary observation.
