Generalized-Non Local Mean Algorithm for Despeckling of Digital Images Using Classical and Wavelet Transform
Journal Title: International journal of Emerging Trends in Science and Technology - Year 2015, Vol 2, Issue 8
Abstract
Recent years, De-speckling of digital images will be a challenging task in image processing applications. Previously there are so many algorithms have been proposed to de-speckle the digital images. Here in this thesis we had done an experiment on de-speckling of digital images such as biometric, medical. We introduced a new NLM technique called “Generalized-NLM”, which an extension for wavelet transformNLM and classical NLM. Simulation results had shown that the proposed technique performed better than the conventional techniques, and the quality of de-speckled image is measured in terms of Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and Mean Square Error.
