GENRE-COMMUNICATIVE PECULIARITIES OF THE TRAVEL ESSAY BY MARKIYAN KAMYSH «A STROLL TO THE ZONE»

Abstract
The article is devoted to the research of the Ukrainian journalism of the Chernobyl problem on example of the travel essay by Markiyan Kamysh «A Stroll to the Zone». It focuses on the non-traditional context of the problems and trends of modern mass literature, the genre aspect of the text, which can be described as a synthesis of traveler, problem sketches with attributes of travel journalism. The mass communication model of the essay is based on the intersection of journalistic and artistic communications, environmental, national, political, cultural and informational dimensions. Genre features determine the specifics of communication at the plot, chronotope, documentary and imagery. Despite the tragedy of perception of the consequences of Chernobyl, the author implements the communicative guidelines: destroys the stereotypical perception of the Ukrainian reader of the Exclusion Zone as dead, which undoubtedly is the prism of catastrophic human activity in nature, creating a positive image of the Chornobyl Region — a zone of tranquility, spiritual comfort and a source of inspiration. The plot of the essay is constructed in violation of the genre canon: on individual routes, sections of the way, the author-narrator, guide, and stater introduce the reader not to the traditions, monuments and culture of Polissya, but rather to the markers of disaster, culture, periphery, «make-up» and fits it into Ukrainian space; it is a movement of feelings and instincts of a lonely man in the wild nature.
