Geny Hox jako regulatory rozwoju zarodkowego i markery molekularne w badaniach filogenetycznych u Heteroptera – stan obecny i perspektywy dalszych badań

Journal Title: Heteroptera Poloniae - Acta Faunistica - Year 2017, Vol 11, Issue

Abstract

The Homeotic Complex (Hox) genes are a group of genes, which expression along anteriorposterior body axis of the embryo is required to assign segmental identity. Comparison of wild-type individuals and those with homeotic phenotype has resulted in knowing of the functions of heteropteran Hox genes: Deformed gene expression is necessary for proper mandibular development, Sex combs reduced gene with Dfd specify the maxillae, and with pb – the labium, Antennapedia gene is strongly expressed in thorax and it is required for segmentation of the medial region of the leg, while Ultrabithorax has a major influence on diversification of legs in the adaptive radiation of semi-aquatic bugs. Hox genes are also suitable molecular markers to resolve phylogenetic relationships in Heteroptera, however more studies are necessary.
