Abstract
Internal geopolitics presents a new challenge for the development of geopolitical thinking.It focuses on several issues related to the functioning of the state in relation to its action in the international arena. The article outlines the main theoretical basis of internal geopolitics, which is applied to the conditions of the Russian Federation. The article emphasizes the specifics of its internal structure, while critically relies on the proposition of Russian authors
