Giant Choledochal Cyst: Complexity in the Diagnosis and Management

Abstract

Choledochal cysts are uncommon congenital anomalies of the biliary tract. The size of choledochal cysts rarely exceeds 10cm in transverse dimension. Out of 90 choledochal cyst operation performed between 2005-2015 in the Department of GI Surgery and Paediatric surgery, IGIMS, Patna, 15 were found to have cyst size more than 10cm. The purpose of this study is to discuss the diagnostic problems and management with these “giant choledochal cysts”.
