Abstract
The article Quality Graduation In The Ukrainian Translation Of The Old Testament Part One focuses on the Bible translation in the world and in Ukraine and indicates the influence of the translated Holy Scripture interpretations on the formation of certain modern literary languages, Ukrainian in particular. The study makes an attempt to analyze the views of scientists regarding the formation and historical development of the superlative degree of comparison and focuses on the categories of degrees of comparison as one of the morphological word-forming categories. It also analyzes Panteleimon Kulish’s usage of adjective and adverbial degrees of comparison in his translation of the Bible Book of Moses. The attempt is made to compare the degrees of comparison in the investigated translation and their application in the East Slavic languages, in separate dialects of the Ukrainian language. In the studies of Ukrainian and Russian philologists, the mechanism of phonetic changes is revealed in the establishment of East Slavic comparisons in the diachronic issue.
