Granulometric Method for Evaluation Sensitivity to Fragmentation of the Compressed Samples Made of Sintered Material
Journal Title: Problemy Mechatroniki. Uzbrojenie, lotnictwo, inżynieria bezpieczeństwa - Year 2012, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
The project of the methodology evaluation of ability to material fragmentation while impact of the cylindrical samples into massive target is presented in this paper. To the quantitative description of the recovered fragments has been used sieve analysis. It was proposed a characteristics of collection of particles, namely mass fraction and quantitative dimensional particle fraction, which were assumed as a general factor of ability to fragmentation. The verification of methodology has been made using the recovered fragments of ballistic damaged samples. Results of verification have confirmed the correctness of experimental research methods and its usefulness to the study of projectiles fragmentation.

Analiza procesu przebijania płyty przez małogabarytowy element cylindryczny
W artykule przedstawiono wstępną weryfikację oddziaływania małogabarytowego elementu cylindrycznego z przeszkodą w postaci tarczy metalowej o grubości 2,5 mm. Rozważono uderzenia z różnymi prędkościami (200, 400 i 800 m/...
Determination of the Firing Pin Critical Velocity and the Critical Power in the Percussive Initiation of Primer Caps
This work involved testing of the probability of initiating a KWM-3 type of primer cap as a function of the firing pin velocity upon impact. The tested firing pin was accelerated to the required velocity by a falling mas...
Experimental and Finite Element Studies on Man-Rifle Reaction Force
The study concerns a man-weapon interaction during a gunshot. The recoil force measurements obtained for the Kalashnikov automatic rifle are presented and analyzed. The influence of shooter’s mass, height and position is...
Shooting Errors Simulations Initiated by Barrel Jumping of 40 mm Turret Guns
Model considered estimations of isolated shooting errors initiated by barrel jumping after each particular bullet as the research of particular characteristic important for gun mounting on the mobile platforms. Sequentia...
