Graphene samples preparation and some possible uses in developing optical communication devices
Journal Title: Revista Facultad de Ingeniería-Universidad de Antioquia - Year 2015, Vol 1, Issue 75
Abstract
Graphene is a two-dimensional material which has been attracting the attention of worldwide scientific community, motivated by their optical and electronic properties. There are different methods for obtaining grapheme; however, the micromechanical exfoliation process is the simplest and it allows samples with high quality to be obtained. In this paper, the preparation process of graphene flakes by exfoliation method and their characterization by Raman spectroscopy are shown. Moreover, some possible uses of graphene flakes applied to develop optical communication high speed devices are described.

Nonlinear analysis of the electroencephalogram in depth of anesthesia
Digital signal processing of the electroencephalogram (EEG) became important in monitoring depth of anesthesia (DoA) being used to provide a better anesthetic technique. The objective of this work was to conduct a review...
Freeway speed limits under inclement weather conditions
Over the past decade, over speeding has been identified to be the most dominant factor contributing to the occurrence of severe crashes and injuries on freeways, and thus speed limit performs the most popular countermeas...
Band-Pass filters using OSRR cells
This paper presents the design process (including optimization and characterization) of a band-pass filter through the use of OSRR-structured meta-material cells over micro-strip substrates. The proposed design, which st...
Incorporación de otras materias primas como fuentes de azúcares fermentables en destilerías existentes de alcohol
This paper presents alternatives for meeting the deficit in sugared substrates in a territory with several sugar mills and ethanol distilleries so they can reach their current production capacity. By using secondary curr...
Performance of a Genetic Algorithm applied to robust design in multiobjective systems under different levels of fractioning
This paper studies the performance of a Genetic Algorithm (GA) to find solutions to problems of robust design in multiobjective systems with many control and noise factors, representing the output vector in a single aggr...
