GRAPHICAL MEANS IN THE GENRE TWITTING IN THE ENGLISH-LANGUAGE POLITICAL INTERNETCOMMUNICATION

Abstract
The article focuses on the issues of the development of information technologies that led to the emergence of Internetcommunication. Active use of the Internet in many spheres, including politics, has led to the emergence of political Internetcommunication. One of the most popular Internet services, widely used in the field of politics, is Twitter. Along with the growing popularity of this service it is possible to speak about the appearance of twitting – a digital genre initiated by the Internet-service Twitter. Analysis of linguistic and non-linguistic means used in digital genres is one of the directions of research of digital genres studying – a new field of Internet linguistics. One of the most important stylistic devices in the genre twitting in the English language political Internet-communication is the use of graphical means. As a result of the study the following cases of graphical means use have been identified: multiple writing of punctuation marks, using capital letters when writing individual words, groups of words and sentences; multiple use of one and the same letter in a word; graphical symbols which have a functional meaning. The use of graphical stylistic means in the genre twitting in the sphere of political communication is of a sporadic nature. It can be explained by the prevalence of the informative function in the genre. It is also a feature of a writing style of a political leader.
