Great Britain’s Relationship Between European Union and Brexit

Abstract
Despite the fact that the result of the Brexit referendum shocked the member states of European Union, they know that they should be respectful of the decision of Britain’s citizens. It is obvious that, the United Kingdom was the one of the most important members during its membership both politically and economically. In this study, the role of the United Kingdom throughout the progress from the European Economic Community to European Union is analyzed. Another aim of this study is to examine the political reasons of the referendum and to point out the political and economic results of it that will occur in the near future.
