Greek medical terminology: Its beginning during the neo-hellenic enlightenment

Journal Title: Αρχεία Ελληνικής Ιατρικής - Year 2008, Vol 25, Issue 2

Abstract

The writers on medical subjects during the period of neo-hellenic enlightenment, in the second half of 18th century and the two pro-revolutionary decades, tried to create medical terms during the transfer of new medical knowledge from Europe to the Greek region. Since that time these medical terms have constituted the base of the Greek medical terminology.
