GROUND WATER QUALITY IN THE VICINITY OF INDUSTRIAL LOCATIONS IN GUNTUR, A.P., INDIA
Journal Title: International Journal of Engineering and Science Invention - Year 2018, Vol 7, Issue 1
Abstract
Physico-chemical investigations, which are significant for the assessment of ground water quality, have been carried out to identify the sources of contamination in the groundwater in Guntur city in Andhra Pradesh, India. In the present study, groundwater was found to be highly contaminated in the industrial area of Guntur. In essence, high Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Electrical Conductivity (EC), Total Hardness, Total Alkalinity, Sodium (Na+ ), Potassium (K+ ) and Chlorides (Cl- ) in groundwater reflect additions of pollutants from industrial sources that further deteriorate its quality. The results obtained from the study are compared with the standards suggested by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The results revealed that the water quality parameters failed to meet the drinking water quality standards and were found unfit for drinking purpose, and hence were graded as non-potable.

Integral Solutions of Non-Homogeneous Biquadratic Diophantine Equation x4 - y4 = 34 (z + w) p2 With Five Unknowns
The non-homogeneous biquadratic Diophantine equation given by 2 is analyzed for its patterns of non-zero distinct integral solutions. A few interesting relations between the solutions and special polygonal numbers are ex...
Protection of overhead transmission lines from lightning strike
transmission lines are shielded with protective wires to overcome various kinds of sudden upsurge of high voltage.the aim of the article is to determine the probability of direct lightning strikes in overhead lines with...

Monte Carlo Implementation for Simulation of Ostwald Ripening Via Long Range Diffusion in Two-Phase Solids
Numerical simulations based on the Monte Carlo Potts model are used to study coupling of grain growth and Ostwald ripening in two-phase polycrystalline materials. The ratio of the grain boundary energy to the interphase...
