GROWTH DISORDERS IN CHILDREN WITH JUVENILE ARTHRITIS

Journal Title: International scientific journal Science and Innovation - Year 2024, Vol 3, Issue 10

Abstract

Juvenile arthritis (JA) is a severe destructive and inflammatory disease of the joints, leading to disability of patients. Juvenile arthritis (JA) is characterized by local and generalized growth retardation, as well as the development of periarticular osteoporosis and later generalized bone demineralization, which contributes to an increased incidence of bone fractures. Growth impairment is one of the important medical and social problems, the solution of which in recent years has been given much attention by scientists from different countries of the world and different specialties. Growth retardation is not only observed in ‘classic’ SUR, which almost always leads to stunting, in contrast to SA in general. Stunting is also very common in various variants of SRA.
