Heavy Metals Accumulation in Wood Tissue of the Main Forest Forming Species in Northern Steppe of Ukraine

Abstract

he content of heavy metal (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni, Mn) in wood of Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) and black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) within the Northern Steppe of Ukraine was analyzed. A species specificity of heavy metal accumulation and dependence of their concentration on age of investigated wood breeds have been identified.
