High Voltage-Boosting Converters Based on Soft-Switched Interleaved Boost Converters

Abstract

This project objective is to generalize the scheme for new switching interleaved step-up converters that is fit for high power applications and high step-up. In this scheme, high voltage-boosting converters are proposed. The scheme is configured with parallel connected basic cells and proper number of series [1] in order to fulfil the needed power levels and output voltage respectively. These converters are constructed depend on soft switching. Furthermore, although there are four switches in each converter, only one gate driver is needed, but no isolated gate driver would be needed. Switching transitions arise under favourable conditions – device current or voltage is zero when switch stress, reduced switching losses, easier thermal management, possibly low EMI and must for very huge frequency operation, (also average frequency at high power levels). Usually it involves compromises in, conduction loss, passive components, switch rating etc.
