HIRAYAMA DISEASE –CERVICAL FLEXION MYELOPATHYA CASE REPORT

Abstract
Hirayama disease, a kind of cervical myelopathy related to flexion movements of the neck. A healthy 19 year old male developed insidious onset of atrophy of muscles of left hand and forearm. MRI cervical spine non flexion study shows asymmetric thinning of the lower cervical spinal cord and MRI flexion study shows anterior shifting of posterior dura of cervical cord. The possible mechanism of this disease in this patient is discussed.
