Histopathological detection of helicobacter pylori (H.Pylori) in perforated peptic ulcer cases

Abstract
Background: Helicobacter pylori have been associated with gastric and duodenal ulcers in most of the studies and data but its role in complications like peptic ulcer perforation needs to be evaluated. Objectives: To detect H.Pylori in Perforated peptic ulcer cases ( Primary). Profile of Perforated peptic ulcer cases (secondary). Study Design: Prospective Study. Sample Size: It was a two year study and 50 cases of perforated peptic ulcer were operated in this two year period. Material: This study was conducted on 50 cases of perforated gastric or duodenal ulcer managed by simple closure and omentopexy in the Department of Surgery.
