HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE AS A FACTOR OF LOCAL SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract
The article presents the potential spheres of influence of historical and cultural heritage on local social and economic development. The text presents the economic effects of commercialization of heritage. The analysis highlights the heritage as an element of the territory’s image and brand. The article revealed the role of heritage in the formation of creative and knowledge economies is analyzed. The paper describes the functional characteristics of the heritage as an integral element of the process of revitalization. The possible scenarios of the impact of heritage commercialization on the level and quality of life of the local population are presented.
