HISTORICAL BALLAD:UKRAINIAN-BRITISH CONTEXT
Journal Title: ІНОЗЕМНА ФІЛОЛОГІЯ - Year 2015, Vol 128, Issue
Abstract
The article considers poetics of British and Ukrainian historical ballads of the Anglo-Scottish Border and the struggle of Ukraine with the Turkish and Tatar expansion (raids, battles, captivity). The conclusions about a vividly expressed national authenticity in the imagery and thematic content of folk works, as well as about the typological reflection of the soldier’s death at war through the prism of the orphaned family are substantiated.
