Historical Development and Special Building Structures of In-earth Embedded Houses
Journal Title: Acta Technica Jaurinensis - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 2
Abstract
Earth houses have been traditional residential buildings for a long time and their three different types (in-hill house, cave dwelling and atrium house) were separated during the early history. Modern earth house architecture was born in the 1960s in the USA but spread only after the first oil price explosion in the 1970s. Earth-sheltered houses became popular nowadays because of their several benefits (environmentally friendly, economical, energy savings, landscape protection, fire protection). Unfortunately they have some disadvantages (negative prejudices, high building costs, special building constructions, complicated design and construction) this is why we can come across these houses very rarely. The well-designed orientation, insolation, ventilation, damp and thermal insulation is essential to have pleasant and comfortable atmosphere inside.

Investigation of Used Engine Oil Lubricating Performance Through Oil Analysis and Friction and Wear Measurements
Engine oil degradation during long-term engine operation is a well-researched topic, however, the effect of biofuels and synthetic compounds is not fully understood. In order to characterise novel fuel related&...
Power Semiconductor Trends in Electric Drive Systems
Nowadays lots of big brands (like Tesla, Nissan, Audi etc.) deal with electric cars and electric drive systems. The first brand deals with only electric drive systems and everyone know this name. These cars are more envi...
Parallel Numerical Creation of 2-parametric Bifurcation Diagram of Nonlinear Oscillators
This paper presents the numerical creation of 2-parametric bifurcation diagrams of nonlinear oscillators with a simple iterative algorithm, which can be easily parallelized. The parallel algorithm was tested with two sim...
Overview of the Finite Element Method
By using scalar and vector potentials, Maxwell's equations can be transformed intopartial differential equations. Generally, the partial differential equations can be solved by numerical methods. One of these numerical m...
