HISTORICAL RESEARCH OF MELIORATION CAUSES AND EFFECTS IN REGION OF COASTAL TERRITORIES NEAREST THE BLACK SEA

Abstract
The views of many researchers about the need for irrigation in the south of Ukraine are analyzed. Also, the consequences of large-scale irrigation in the Northern Black Sea briefly covered. In this article the necessity and economic efficiency of construction of drainage systems in the region are proved. The author gives examples of research about the waterlogged and saline lands, arable lands fertility in the region of Krasnoznamenskaya irrigation system. The characteristics of ecological problems of irrigated agriculture and the existing of potential threats to soil and water contamination for Northern Black Sea are given. In conclusion, the author are accentuated on the need for a balanced approach to meliorative measures and the application of evidence-based guidance
