Honour Killing in India

Abstract

Caught in the middle of an ancient culture dating back several millenniums juxtaposed with modernization and globalization, India has witnessed a paradigm shift in social values and principles. International media has constantly induced liberal thinking into the newer generations which in turn has made them challenge the norms of old society that have been imposed through strict vigilance. One of the unfortunate outcomes of such rebellion has materialized in the form of honour killings.
