Journal Title: Journal L`Association 1901 SEPIKE - Year 2019, Vol 1, Issue 24

Abstract

Human capital is an important source of the economic growth. Human capital embodies knowledge and experience. Its formation is influenced by the family environment, but mainly in schools as the main educational institutions. The learning process needs to be constantly improved, adapted to the global challenges and trends. The need for education is primarily based on the real life, as people without education do not have the opportunity to find a high-quality job in order to secure their future income. There is a great deal of attention in education in the Slovak Republic and around 4% of GDP is invested every year in the educational processes that is less than the EU average indicator. In our paper we focus on theories of human capital and investment in education in the Slovak Republic.
