Abstract
L’article forme une synthèse des données issues des recherches anciennes disperses dans les nombreuses publications afin de présenter l’image la plus complète possible du culte de la déesse Ishtar durant la période paléo-babylonienne à Mari. La partie centrale de cet exposé retrace la fête de l’«entrée d’Ishtar au palais» dont les rituels ont laissé de nombreux indices dans les sources écrites de l’époque. Elle montre l’importance de l’évènement dans la vie cultuelle de la cour et des habitants de la cité. Néanmoins, la supposée périodicité de la fête d’Ishtar induit des difficultés par rapport à notre connaissance du calendrieren usage à Mari. Les datations utilisées sous les règnes successifs de Yasmah-Addu et de Zimrî-Lîm constituent un problème essentiel pour l’analyse des documents. Elles permettent un examen des difficultés qui apparaissent dans ce cadre. Un énoncé de l’ensemble du sujet a été ainsi proposé.
