Identification of the need for strategic planning of a modern enterprise at its stages

Abstract

Introduction. In modern enterprises, in many cases, Ukrainian managers consider unimportant to conduct strategic planning. The problem is also the choice of the right strategy. It is important to correctly identify the stages of strategic planning and their use by our Ukrainian managers or companies in general. Purpose. Justification of the need for strategic planning by Ukrainian managers at modern domestic enterprises. Results. The activities of each company are aimed at maximizing profits, efficient realization of their potential, support of competitive positions in the market, as well as stable development. The article substantiates the necessity of strategic planning of the enterprise, allocates 10 stages of implementation of strategic planning, which allow the most widely present the model of strategic planning for domestic enterprises. The main methods of analysis of the internal and external environment of the enterprise and their characteristics are presented, as well as the main (standard) strategies of business development. Domestic enterprises often neglect the use of strategic analysis tools, considering it unnecessary, do not inform the staff about the mission and strategic objectives of the enterprise. This can lead to reduction in the competitiveness of the enterprise and the instability of its activities. Instability in the economy, a large outflow of certified personnel abroad, in many cases do not allow modern enterprises to accurately predict the results of their activities. In connection with this, it is necessary to substantiate the importance of strategic planning at enterprises. The article states that the most important stage is the analysis of the internal and external environment of the enterprise. For analysis of the internal and external environment, many methods are used, the main ones are given with short characteristics. There are many strategies. Each company demonstrates the use of one or another strategy in different ways. Often, many companies use modifications to several reference strategies that are also presented in this article. Strategic planning requires considerable time and resources from the enterprise, but its need is due to the fact that with its help the enterprise can analyze the general state of its current activity, maximize its potential and achieve its goals. Conclusion. According to the authors, at any of the stages there may be occurred problems, so the manager must correctly analyze the company, determine the mission, formulate the goal, analyze the external and internal environment of the enterprise. Consequently, the manager needs to take into account all indicators that can be evaluated. Attention should be given to the right choice of strategy. The modern manager must be able to adapt to changes in the market. Therefore, strategic planning is necessary for all companies, regardless of the direction of theirs activity. The strategic plan contributes to the successful development of domestic companies, as it prompts management to think perspective, to reflect the results of their own efforts, more clearly define the goals, to prepare the company for possible sudden changes.
