Abstract
The system of self-knowledge (personal recognition) is a system to recognize a person's identity automatically using a computer with a password (password), ID card, or PIN to identify a person. However, introducing themselves with the system has some flaws that can be stolen and easily duplicated, have the possibility that someone will forget and some passwords can be expected so that it can be used by people who are not responsible. To be able to automatically identify a person can be done computationally, by using artificial neural networks. This study implements the method of artificial neural network learning vector quantization with the object recognition, namely palm. In this study the model of the software development process used is Waterfall, while the programming language used is Matlab, and a data base management system is Microsoft Access. The output of the developed application is user identification for authentication Presence. From the test results, the accuracy of these applications amounted to 74,66% in differentiating between users with each other
