IDENTITY AND NATIONAL HISTORICAL EDUCATION

Abstract
An expression of inner human history is its identity. Identity is something that belongs to itself. The identity of an individual is a combination of certain characteristics that make him this particular, and not another person throughout his life, constituting as a unique being. This, in fact, is the identification of oneself with the content of their substance.Identity as a certain immutability is the result of certain processes of socialization that occur in time. Historical dimension permeates all components of human identity. Historicity generates as its external attachment to a certain way of experiencing the past states, the present and the images of the imagined future.Human identity is a measure of the presence in its present state of affairs. The factor of preservation of identity – human memory, the specificity of which is not copying previous impressions, but rather their remembrance. Identification of oneself with the past states through the recollection is possible in two forms: a) as a member of the collective, and here the actual past is updated, that his individual has not survived as a result of personal accomplishment, but which he experiences as his own at the level of identity; b) identification with his personal past. At both levels, historical consciousness – collective or individual – is formed, the main factor of which is the national historical education.National historical education means its content, character and orientation, which objectively reflects the general tendencies of the original and self-sufficient Ukrainian historical process, the peculiarities of the formation of the Ukrainian ethnic group, the Ukrainian nation, its life stages at different stages in the context of world history National historical education is based on the latest achievements of Ukrainian and world historical science, is based on reliable sources, adheres to the principles of truth, objectivity and evidence, is used by high-quality, professionally prepared textbooks and teaching aids and is provided by highly educated and highly skilled specialists in the field of history, pedagogy and social psychology.This is a Ukrainian vision not only of its own, but of world history, history of foreign countries. National historical education does not isolate its knowledge of ethnic Ukrainians from the knowledge about non-Ukrainian ethnic groups, many of which belong to the ancient inhabitants of Ukraine, have a common historical background, consistently supported the state of the Ukrainian people.The main vocation of national historical education is organically derived from the cognitive and ideological function of history as a science and discipline and is to give a person a system of scientific knowledge on the history of both humanity as a whole and the Ukrainian people, to help her learn the instructive historical experience of ancestors, to master skills to objectively evaluate the events and facts of the past and on this basis to confidently orient in modern life and see its prospects.
