Abstract
In this article it deals the features of forming the image of an architectural object that arose under the influence of socio-economic and political conditions. These conditions, reflected in the public consciousness of people as principles and laws that are characteristic of a particular historical period, determine the directions of the development of culture in general and architecture in particular. They were analyzed the stylistic directions of forming the image of an architectural object that arose as a reflection of state or social ideology in different periods of the history of the Ukrainian state during the last 100 years (first in the Soviet Union, then in the period of independence).
