Image Compression Techniques Using Modified high quality Multi wavelets
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2011, Vol 2, Issue 7
Abstract
Over the past decade, the success of wavelets in solving many different problems has contributed to its unprecedented popularity. For best performance in image compression, wavelet transforms require filters that combine a number of desirable properties, such as orthogonality and symmetry. Advances in wavelet transforms and quantization methods have produced algorithms capable of surpassing the existing image compression standards like the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) algorithm. For best performance in image compression, wavelet transforms require filters that combine a number of desirable properties, such as orthogonality and symmetry. This paper presents new multi wavelet transform and quantization methods and introduces multi wavelet packets. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our techniques exhibit performance equal to, or in several cases superior to, the current wavelet filters.

Telugu Bigram Splitting using Consonant-based and Phrase-based Splitting
Splitting is a conventional process in most of Indian languages according to their grammar rules. It is called ‘pada vicchEdanam’ (a Sanskrit term for word splitting) and is widely used by most of the Indian languages. S...
Big Data Knowledge Mining
Big Data (BD) era has been arrived. The ascent of big data applications where information accumulation has grown beyond the ability of the present programming instrument to catch, manage and process within tolerable shor...
Fast and Efficient In-Memory Big Data Processing
With the passage of time, the data is growing exponentially and the mostly endured areas are social media networks, media hosting applications, and servers. They have thousands of Tera-bytes of data and the efficient sys...
Skew Detection and Correction of Mushaf Al-Quran Script using Hough Transform
Document skew detection and correction is mainly one of base preprocessing steps in the document analysis. Correction of the skewed scanned images is critical because it has a direct impact on image quality. In this pape...
Fault-Tolerant Model Predictive Control for a Z(TN)-Observable Linear Switching Systems
This work considers the control and the state observation of a linear switched systems with actuators faults. A particular problem is studied: the occurrence of non-observable subsystem in the switching sequence. Hence,...
