Image Compression Using Fast 2-D DCT Technique
Journal Title: International Journal on Computer Science and Engineering - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 6
Abstract
Image Compression is a method, which reduces the size of the data to reduce the amount of space required to store the data. The Discrete cosine transform (DCT) is a method for transforms a signal or image from spatial domain to frequency component. It is a widely used technique in image compression. In this paper, we present a lossless discrete cosine transform (DCT) compression technique for two-dimensional images are proposed. In the several scenarios, the utilization of the proposed technique for image compression resulted in comparable or better performance, when compared to the different modes of the lossless JPEG standard.

Improved Self Fused Check pointing Replication for Handling Multiple Faults in Cloud Computing
The performance of checkpointing replication fault tolerance technique is severely bottlenecks due to handling of number of replicas generated for a large number of nodes to tolerate multiple faults such as multiple fail...
Development of Framework for Automatic Speech Recognition
In this paper we have proposed an automatic speech recognition framework using agents. In this we have included both audio recognition and visual recognition. The audio and visual modalities are complementary to each oth...
A Novel Approach for clustering web user sessions using RST
Web usage mining has assumed importance in learning about web user's behavior and user interactions with the website. It uses data mining techniques to discover non-trivial user behavior patterns. These patterns can then...
PALM: Preprocessed Apriori For Logical Matching Using Map Reduce Algorithm
With the recent explosive growth of the amount of data content and information on the Internet, it has become increasingly difficult for users to find and maximize the utilization of the information found in the internet...
Color Image Segmentation for Satallite Images
This paper introduces efficient and fast algorithms for unsupervised image segmentation, using low-level features such as color, applied on satellite images. With the increase in spatial resolution of satellite imagery,...
