Journal Title: Південний архів (філологічні науки) - Year 2018, Vol 72, Issue 1
Abstract
This article suggests the analysis of the representation of animals in the image of the doctor in Russian literature of the 19th century. One of the aims of our study is to discover how animals relate to the character and to find some patterns of such representation. Do these animals feature in the doctor’s portrayal? Is the bestiary code one of the possible ways to identify the author’s position in the representation of the doctor? What authors include some elements from animal’s world into the medical discourse?
