Impact test on natural fiber reinforced polymer composite materials
Journal Title: Carbon - Science and Technology - Year 2013, Vol 5, Issue 3
Abstract
In this research, natural fibers like Sisal (Agave sisalana), Banana (Musa sepientum) & Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) , Sisal and banana (hybrid) , Roselle and banana (hybrid) and Roselle and sisal (hybrid) are fabricated with bio epoxy resin using molding method. In this work, impact strength of Sisal and banana (hybrid), Roselle and banana (hybridand Roselle and sisal (hybrid) composite at dry and wet conditions were studied. Impact test were conducted izod impact testing machine. In this work micro structure of the specimens are scanned by the Scanning Electron Microscope.

Antibacterial activity of Nano-Silver capped by β-Cyclodextrin
Silver nanoparticles were prepared by chemical reduction method using sodium citrate as reducing agent, followed by capping with various concentrations of β-Cyclodextrin (β-CD) and characterized by various physicochemica...
Effect of precursors on the solid-state synthesis of semiconducting PbS nanostructures
In this communication, we report facile and economical in-situ preparation of lead sulphide (PbS) nanorods and nanocubes within the Polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) matrix. PPS plays a dual role in the synthesis of the resul...
The effect of PTSA on preparation of mesophase carbon spheres
Mesophase spheres have been synthesized by heat-treating a medium coal tar pitch at 420 ºC for 2 hours in the presence of P-toluene sulphonic acid (PTSA). The effect of PTSA on synthesis of mesophase spheres had been stu...
Synthesis and characterization of CuGeO3 photocatalyst using Green Chemistry and its application for the degradation of direct black dye
In this paper, we report synthesis of CuGeO3 photocatalyst by mechanochemical, solid state synthesis, method with green chemistry approach. The product obtained was characterized by various investigative techniques like...
Methane storage in a commercial activated carbon
A commercial activated carbon was examined for possible methane storage application. The structural and surface properties of the carbon were characterized by Nitrogen adsorption isotherm at 77 oK. It was found that the...
